All About Me

My name is Michael Carter and I teach Physical Education for grades 5-8. I received my degree from Austin Peay State University in 1998. I met my wife Aime in college and we were married in 1999. I began teaching in August 1999 at Cheatham Middle School. I was hired as a 6th grade math teacher as well as the assistant girls basketball coach yand to begin the new volleyball program for the school. Cheatham middle school has been my home for the last 23 years. I love this school and the kids I have seen come and go throughout the years. I have two sons of my own, Preston who graduated from Cheatham County High School in 2019 and attends APSU. Tucker is a senior at Cheatham High School and is on the basketball team. In 2008, I decided to get my certification in Health and physical education to become a Physical Education teacher. This is my 14th year teaching P.E. and I love my job. My wife is the A.P. at Cheatham High School. She and I have taught for over 40 years combined in Cheatham County. We are definitely invested in the students of Cheatham County. Over the years I have coached baseball, volleyball, football, and basketball. I am in my 24th year coaching girls basketball at Cheatham Middle.
