CMS Weekly Update 9-24-2017

Hello CMS Families!

I wanted to thank everyone who participated in and supported our school-wide candy bar fundraiser.  It means a great deal to us and it goes a long way towards supporting our school.  I did want to remind everyone that all candy money is due.  I also wanted to invite everyone to come out next Thursday (October 5th) and see our Live Art Gallery presentation.  The students have been working diligently to put this together for your enjoyment.  The Live Art Gallery will not begin until 6pm; however, participants should arrive no later than 5pm in order to conduct any last minute preparations.  I also wanted to remind everyone about our first Positive Behavior Super Friday event which will take place all day October 6th.  We will be selling various food items throughout the duration of this event in order to raise money in support of our Positive Behavior Program.  If you would like to assist us in support of our Positive Behavior program, we are requesting the following items from the following grades.  We will be accepting donations every day between now and Friday the 6th.

5th Grade:  Chips (assorted)

6th Grade:  Candy (assorted)

7th Grade:  Drinks (individual size cans/bottles)

8th Grade:  Snack Cakes (assorted)

From Nurse Connie:  I really appreciate all the 7th grade parents getting their child's immunization records up to date.

From Mrs. Canterbury:  Career Day will be at Cheatham Middle School on November 15 from 8-9:45.  If you, or anyone you know of would like to give a 20-25 minute presentation to three different classes on that morning, we would appreciate you sharing your time and knowledge with us.   Please email for more details.

From Mrs. Griggs:  There are very few families that have not been affected by divorce.  When a divorce occurs, children have difficulty coping with the dramatic changes within their families.  If any 5th grade parent is interested in your child being part of a group to help him/her deal with the unique situations and stresses brought about by divorce, please let me know.  You may contact me at or call 615-792-2334 for more details.

From Coach Hunter:    Students can buy a $1 ticket to be able to participate in the Walk-A-Thon on October 6th.  These can be purchased in the gymnasium in the morning or with Coach Megan throughout the day! Students will write their name on these and they will be placed on the wall in the Cafeteria. Students can purchase more than one to have their name on the wall multiple times.
