Meet the Teacher

Hello there!

My name is Rachel Forbert. I will be teaching 6th grade ELA this year at CMS. I am so excited to be apart of the CMS family and cannot wait to build relationships within the community. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Education K-6. Last year, 2019-2020, I taught 6th Grade ELA and Social Studies at CMS and prior to I had spent two years teaching in the MNPS district. I grew up in Cheatham County and graduated from Harpeth High School in 2006. I am passionate about literature, theater, arts, and my family. My husband and I are both Nashville Natives and we have twin boys, who are 6 years old. Building relationships with my students and their families has always been my top priority to ensure social, emotional, and academic growth for each student. April 20 Social Studies Challenge!

6th Grade Scholars, it is time to get creative!

You have been tasked to CREATE a map and/or timeline for one of our Ancient Civilizations learned in 6th Grade. Your submissions can be sent to Rachel.Forbert@ccstn.org

Submissions are due by April 20, 2020. There will be a winner for each Ancient Civilization. The winners will have their Creative Work displayed on my CMS Web-Page!

This is not a mandatory assignment, but a fun one! Read through attachment for thorough directions and links that you might find helpful while completing your challenge!
