About Me!
I am proud to say that this is my 5th year teaching 5th grade English Language Arts at CMS! I was born and raised in a small town called Bethel, Ohio, which is very much like Ashland City, so I feel like I'm right at home here. Before I became a teacher, I enjoyed many types of jobs, such as entertaining at Walt Disney World, pearl diving at Sea World (very briefly...turns out I'm not a fan of swimming for long periods of time), and bookselling at Barnes & Noble; however, teaching has been my favorite career adventure so far.
I became a teacher because I love to learn. I received an associate degree from Valencia Community College in Florida. After moving to Tennessee, I earned my bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University, and my master's degree from Austin Peay State University. I enjoy sharing my love of reading and writing with my students!
In my free time, I'm usually with my family. I have a wonderful husband named Patrick, and together we have a daughter named Ensley, who is a Baby Bearcat at CMS and will be two years old in September 2020, and another little one due at the very beginning of 2021. Also, I can't forget to mention our fur babies (both dogs) named Piper and Will.
I love family time, reading, writing, food, walks, movies, tea, naps, ballet, broaches, Mister Rogers, garden gnomes and fairies, hardy flowers and plants, and (of course) teaching!
