MR. KNOTT'S PROFILE
I am currently on my 25th year of teaching. WOW! that is a long time. That means that I have taught over 21,000 classes. I really enjoy my job. There are challenges, just like in any other job. But, the challenges I conquer are changing the lives of young people. I would be hard pressed to find a job that I would enjoy more.
I earned a Bachelor"s degree in Education at Arkansas State University, with an endorsement in Science. I taught two years in West Memphis, Arkansas, teaching science. My third year of teaching, I moved to Cheatham County. I taught one more year of science. Norma Beshears noticed my artistic skill. When Cheatham Middle was built, she wanted to make me the art teacher. I attended two more years of school at Austin Peay, NashvilleTech, and Tennessee State University, to gain my endorsement for art.
Art is my usual escape. It is the activity that I use to get away sometimes. But, I am also into exercise and motorcycle riding. I try to make it to the gym three times a week. I often wake up early to exercise as well . I find it a great way to start the day. My motorcycle is my biggest toy. I love to go out riding and get lost. Literally get lost to the point that I really do not know where I am. I have often ended up in another state, not even knowing.
I been married to my beautiful wife Christy for going on 25 years now. We have 20 year old son that I very proud of. He is an amazing photographer, and this year he is attending the New York Film Academy in Australia.
I love the challenge of teaching art. My favorite thing to see is when a student has worked very had, and when they are finished, they have truly impressed themselves. I know everybody loves that feeling. I want my students to become self motivators and discover the benefits of working hard and doing their best. That is a trait that can't be given. It can only be created by them.
Thank you for allowing me to teach your child.
