CMS Weekly Update 3-18-2018

Hello CMS Families!

As we move into the final quarter of the school year we want to make sure everyone is aware of our upcoming Saturday school sessions.  These sessions are a great opportunity for students who need extra time and support in order to improve their grades.  We will be offering at least two more (possibly three) Saturday school sessions between now and the end of the school year.  The first of these sessions will take place on April 7th (8-10:30am).  I am still requesting that 8th grade parents send photos of their student to cmsgradpics2018@gmail.com.  In order to ensure that all students have the opportunity to be represented, I am asking that you limit your submissions to 5 photos per student.  The deadline to submit your photos will be May the 15th.

News From Around CMS:

From CMS Administration:  As we approach spring break we have been experiencing a sharp increase in behavioral issues.  We invite you to partner with us in reviewing behavioral expectations for student behavior while in school.  There is still material that needs to be taught prior to spring break.  Please be aware that we will still be issuing strikes and physical altercations always result in ISS/OSS.

From Mrs. Griggs:  The University of Tennessee is offering an online summer reading program.  Individualized programs include engaging online instruction, independent reading in great books, and a skilled and encouraging teacher.  For more information or to register call 1-800-964-9974.  If you would like a flyer, please email me (mary.griggs@ccstn.org) and I will send it home with your child.
